Our Sedex Membership / SMETA 4-Pillar Audit
With our Sedex membership since 2008 we committed ourselves to comply with the international BSCI standard (Business Social Compliance Initiative) determining ethical convention, social and environmental standards. Codes of conduct and conventions of IAO, ETI base code, SA 8000 und ISO 14001 represent the benchmark.
Sedex covers, among other things, compliance with general ethical principles regarding labour rights, work safety, health and environmental protection. In this regard Heyne & Penke Verpackungen GmbH is successfully audited according SMETA 4-Pillar (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) by TÜV Rheinland.
These 4 pillars represent symbolic
- human rights
- health and safety
- business ethics.
For us, as for the entire Sedex platform, these 4 pillars are the basis of business activity.
SMETA facilitates ethical audits and the exchange of data, thus avoiding duplication of work through several different audits. SMETA is a compilation of "best practices" of audit techniques and it guarantees high quality and significance to all parties involved.
